Are People More Motivated After Moving to London?

Take a look inside the head of someone who has recently moved to the bustling capital, and who has a lot on their plate. Here's a creative fictional piece of my experience.

I started my website one week after moving and tasks just keep increasing and increasing. You might say that is motivation in itself: you know what you have to do and actively look for them in order to achieve what it is you set out to do. While I believe that's definitely part of it, it needs to be solidified by a walk along the Thames Path.

I decided to go at 15:50, just before sunset. The sky was clear so you can imagine how the views must've been. Bright orange, bright blue, purple, yellow and silver boxes on the other side of the river. You might find this scenery in every white girl's camera roll (including me, guilty as charged).

These colours reflect the image of a buoyant soul. They are so rich that they're practically giving me nutrients to get me through my late evening work, the kind of toil that all those successful London business owners have.

My mind transports me into one of the offices in Greenwich. The sun just dodges my window so it doesn't glare at me while I do my work but still offers a beach sunset over the Thames. This dreamy landscape displays hazy hues of parma violet and orange taffee across the walls of my office – I can already taste the sugar. With this final burst of energy, I put pen to paper, drag it across the page and I have the draft of my next blog post. I turn to my computer, my fingers tapping millisecond by millisecond on the keyboard, all the while ideas are connecting themselves in my brain so fast that I can't possibly type enough.

About four hours later, my throat starts gasping for water. As I sip on the fresh, pure liquid, I observe the work I have completed. Satisfied, it's time to shut down the computer and head home.

I don't know if this goes for moving to other cities, but London has always been my dream since my first visit for a couple of acting lessons. And now I have realised my dream, surrounded by so many opportunities, and I can't leave either to waste.
